Kuravanji — in English translation!

During our school days, the tamil lessons from Kuttralak-kuravanji have always been enjoyable. I understand that an English translation of the Kuravanji is available. Haveing said that, this dampened my enthusiasm:

how are we going to come to terms with the lilt of the original `Vanarangal kani koduththu’ and the banality of the shadow in “he monkeys give fruit to she-monkeys and hug them”? Indeed!

However, as the reviewer points out,

And yet, this rendition is helpful for those who have no idea of the language, the story, the love-lorn Vasanthavalli, the vivacious Kuraththi Singi, or the faithful mate Singan who can neither be brushed aside as an obtuse lout nor entertained as an intelligent husband.

Take a look!
